    Dutch sells it here...

And here is how it works for your lightweight suspension (George is using poly tree huggers in the video. You would just use the Kevlar tree huggers or straps-also available from Dutch).

The lightest I've found is Kevlar straps (from Dutch), Dynaglide Whoopies, Dutch Whoopie hook, Dynaglide continuous loop on the hammock. A stick for the Marlin spike.

This allows for quick removal of the suspension if you prefer to pack it separately or to transfer to different hammocks.

Eliminate the continuous loop & Dutch Whoopie hook if you don't want that option. Simply larks head the eye of the Whoopie to the hammock.

By the way, I weigh 200 pounds. Adjust materials according to your weight.

    Backpacking suspension help

For light weight suspensions-that are strong and durable (you can go lighter, much lighter, but with a precipitous drop in strength and durability)--I'd go with Kevlar straps or tree huggers--Kevlar is strong (3.3 holds 2000 pounds) and it's not bulky and does not absorb much rain water or leaf litter.
Add a light weight continuous loop on hammock and use a becket hitch or Jbend or slip knot to hold suspension. I show slip knot method in my YouTube video Carolina Red Hammock Suspension.
And you can use a marlin spike hitch and toggle to attach Kevlar to continuous loop. Good luck--lots of choices!

Is Dynaglide that much lighter than Amsteel Blue?

Mule tape,IRC, is essentially a low stretch high tensile strength fabric tape, I believe, polyester or mayber a blend, that is used for fishing cables and such.
The Mule Tape that I remember only comes in one style, white and has incremental markings for determining how much cable has been pulled.
( someone feel free to chime in, if I missed anything)

Yep, been contemplating on getting a set of kevlar tree huggers from Dutch.

Think of mule tape as a very thin but strong webbing. Its main industrial use is in pulling cables through underground conduit over thousands of feet. It is very lightweight because it is designed to be literally blown through conduit. Its drawbacks over other types of webbing is that it is purposefully designed to be slippery so it doesn't play as well with things like buckles and other bling that IMO makes setup easier when you are tired and don't want to think. If you like tying different types of knots when setting up camp this is not an issue. People choose it when they are trying to shave a few ounces over traditional webbing and it is cheaper than Kevlar, but that benefit has been reduced by the introduction of lightweight Dynema webbing which CAN be used with buckles and other stuff.
