I have a 11 year old boy I Boy Scouts that I wants a hammock of his own. My question is will the 1.9 nylon hold up to his abuse. He weights about 100lb.

1.9 is a robust fabric and plenty durable. I see the 1.6 hexon in your profile, so you have experience with a great lighter weight fabric.
It seems you're more worried about being able to damage the fabric than what a good fabric for his weight is. With that being the case, I could recommend RBTR's hex2.2. It's heavier obviously, but it is some tough stuff for sure.

It will take the abuse of any objects that may find their way into the hammock and support multiple times his weight.
I'm not as familiar with some of the other heavier weight fabrics, but the 2.2 hex will take abuse.
