    High altitude hanging

We modified a hammock for a guy this past week and he sent pictures of how he uses his hammock. The slogan "Never hang higher than you're willing to fall" does not apply here. Take a look.

WoW...now thats what id call stealth camping
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

I've been thinking of doing the exact same thing.

I'd like to get into hunting a bit more seriously and that'd be about the best tree stand I can imagine! Wildly comfortable, easy(ish) to take down, light. You could literally camp/hunt through an entire day or more!

Extremely high, on technology tested by an amateur with a gun...

    Sounds AWESOME!!!

I've been considering climbing up one of the Ponderosa Pines in my neck of the woods to hang a hammock, but carrying all the extra climbing gear?

I believe he is roped in, so if the hammock
    fails he will not fall.

If you ever get the chance to sit around and tell lies with Ed Speer have him tell you his story about hammocking in bear country. I think he said he had his hammock suspended about 12 or 15' in the air. Course in 'story' form, it's a fantastic story!
