Thanks Shug. I have a DL XLC. Have enjoyed it greatly. Have tested all of your lessons with positive results except the foot shove. Will give that a try. I use a rectangular piece of 1/4" foam about 12" x 18" in my foot box area, primarily for a bit of insulation for cold feet but it helps reduce potential for calf ridge if I don't get hung just right. Appreciate all of the good advice.

When you say foot end 12 - 18" higher, do you mean at the hammock ends, or at the tree?
Jus' seems like a lot, but I guess I have the head end at about chest height and the foot of the hammock at about my chin (that's at the hammock not the tree, that varies depending on the gap).

I set one strap higher. On my stand at home I obviously replicate that by pulling one strap tight and one loose, and it never works as well.

I am thinking more hammock than tree. But remember....I am no academic. Just a guide...this 12 to 18. Could be 21 to 9. Whatever works. No absolutes.

Great video, Shug. Sometimes, despite all of the suggestions you offer in the video, one still finds a gathered end hammock still produces calf ridge. Switching to a bridge hammock will completely eliminate the calf ridge problem.

    Cheers

    Or in Chicago it's 25 or 6 to 4.

Tnx for another great informative video Shug! Yates Place hang this coming week in NC and I'll have to experiment.

That I know. When I did the video I wanted to stay on the gathered end subject and not bring the bridge design into it as then the video would have been 45 minutes! Also just to keep it specific. On here is one thing but with folks on You tube it opens a whole new can of worms and many just can't or won't switch due to funds or whatevermaybe.

Great video! I experienced exactly what you did with my WBBB XLC and Incubator combo. I thought it was just me and I could not get rid of it. Then I got the wooki and the problem was gone. Love the wooki! I still love my Incubator, but not on my WBBB XLC. Thanks for letting me know I was not crazy. Always enjoy watching your videos.

I think most full lengths would on there except Wooki but I normally use a 3/4 UQ so never noticed.
