ViDEO: Calf Ridge in a Hammock...Solutions & Fixes

Calf Ridge in a hammock can be our nemesis whilst trying to get a comfortable night in our hammock.
I've put together some solutions and some things to try to alleviate calf ridge.
Most of these fixes I learned on here and some just by spending thousands of hours in my hammock.
Hope it helps and gives some insight if you are dealing with calf ridge in a hammock.

I watched the Battle of Calf Ridge starring Shug Eastwood. 100% agree that most can be eliminated with a proper hang angle. Or hangle if you prefer.

fantastic video!! ty sir! The foot shove works for me as well as reaching my hand under ma bum and smoothing out the fabric in the center. Takes about 2 seconds. I also learned through experimenting to raise the foot end a bit. My dream hammock I raise it about a foot and my XLC at least 18 inches or more.

I've been hanging for four years now and picked up several things to improve my comfort. Going to watch it again!

thanks, shug! this is really timely for me as it's been on my mind since i did my first overnight hang this week.

i did get a fair bit of calf ridge laying in my DL XLC, but making sure my butt was centered instead of having more fabric on my foot-side, doing the foot push, and shifting my angle a bit eventually made it go away. it sounds like most put their foot end even higher than i did, which is something else i'll have to try... i liked how you used the zipper end as a reference for where your head should be, a very convenient way to spot-check your lay.

surprised your seat-pad didn't make an appearance when you were talking about pillows/jackets! i'd been thinking about that as a strategy after running into it the first night.

as always, super entertaining and informative video. bravo!
