Calf Ridge...more or less in Double Layered Hammock?

Do those of you that use double layered hammocks experience much calf ridge?
Also, do those of you using a heavier fabric (1.9 or Hexon 2.4) in a gathered end hammock experience less calf ridge compared to a lighter fabric like 1.1 or so?

Can only speak to the lighter fabric. Just tried a double layer 1.0 Robic XL and absolutely love it. No calf ridge.

I find my ridge worse the less stretch the material has.

I notice less calf ridge in a hammock with less stretch mostly. Not enough stretch though, and you're on a board. On the contrary, robic 1.0 seems to be an outlier in the sense that it is stretchy, but the it is soft enough that the calf ridge is mostly unnoticed. I have also tried a DL of robic 1.0 and it felt a little too firm for me, but it grew on me, although I would probably use a pillow or clothes under my knees with it. I like the feel of Hexon 1.6, 2.4, Hex70 2.2 , and robic hybrid 1.7. all fabrics with minor stretch, but a little more than a DL of the same material. Coming from a 6'1" 200-220 pounder for reference.

For me the more stretch the better. I have some heavy weight fabric hammocks that cause me some problems. My 1.6 hyper d from DH has been great.

Calf Ridge...more or less in Double Layered Hammock?

I only experience calf ridge when I've slid towards the foot end too far. Sometimes it turns into a hamstring ridge. I have a hummingbird hammock that's only 9.5 feet and as long as I keep the head lower (like almost a foot) I'm good. Now, I have my diy in hexon 1.6 that's almost 11 feet long. It also requires me to put the head lower, but not as much (6 inches or so).

I think I'm noticing more so called calf ridge in a cottage DL (my most recent every day sleeper) I find I'm always in experiment mode. It seems to vary on the hang, suspension angles and sag make it appear/disappear.

The thing is, I always, always use a bundle of some sort behind my knees for past damage to both back and knee: if the ridge is there I'm arched over it, if that makes sense.

I am in a Hyper D 1.0 double layer and I don't get a calf ridge when I am alone. However, add a 7 year old child, and one pops up. Also, depending on where a dog is sleeping, I can get one.

I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.

I always thought calf ridge was more a product of hammocks with integrated bugnets, since I've never experienced calf ridge in a simple, gathered end. I've never experienced calf ridge with BIAS Weight Weenie Micro and WWM DL (nylon), Dutch Poly D. 1.4, nor with tablecloth hammocks (polyester taffeta) single and DL.

I've experienced calf ridge with the HH Expedition Asym Zip, the WBBB, and the Byer Moskito Hammock - all have integrated bugnets.
