    Whoa- Earthquake!

I always wondered what it would be like to experience an earthquake while in a hammock- the night before last I got my chance. I was upstairs cozy in my indoor hammock watching Netflix when I heard a loud rumble and felt shaking for just a few seconds. Wondering what just happened- a vehicle crash? a mudslide? Husband ran upstairs and asked "Was that an earthquake?" This was the shortest duration quake I've ever felt. The epicenter was just 8 miles north- 4.1 Richter. No damage or injuries reported.

Wow. Glad nobody was hurt. That makes it extra neat and cool.

I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.

“The word hammockable (Meaning: two trees that are the perfect distance apart between which a hammock can be hung) is not in the dictionary, but it should be.”

Ahhhh! Glad to hear no damage or injuries! Did you feel it rolling through, or mostly shaking?

That level earthquake is just enough to feel it, sometimes a little damage. We get 'frequent' small ones here in the Salt Lake City area, and it's the level 4ish ones that just creep me out, especially the 'rolling' ones where you can feel the shock waves come through.

Glad you and your family are safe though.

An awesome experience indeed when they happen where they are supposed to happen. Not so much when it's in the midwest and the cause is obvious....

I was thinking it would suck to have to make a mad dash for your life while laying in your hammock. No way i can ever ever get out of my hammock fast, at least not like being able to jump out of bed. Glad all is ok!

Up here in Northern California we had a 4.1 with an epicenter just three miles from my house, never felt a thing. Wife said it shook the house a little. Of course if it's not a 6+ I usually don't even bother getting up;<)
By all means, let's argue about whether or not a hammock will hurt a tree. All the while ignoring the fact that there is an island of garbage the size of Texas floating in the Pacific ocean. Or how about the fact that over 75% of the world's nuclear reactors are leaking...
