If its a first hammock I would stay inexpensive. I just bought my son his first off of amazon for $18. Its a double hammock with a built in net. It even comes with tree straps. I have set it up and laid in it myself (at the time weighing over 300 lbs). It was comfortable and well made (for the price) I would have no problem sleeping in it. I wouldnt spend a whole lot of cash on gear until you know you like hammocking.
