    Partial UQ Length Preference?

I have spent hours researching the full vs. partial length underquilt debate, and I have settled on a partial UQ for my needs. Then, when I went to try to order one, I found that there are a thousand different lengths of partial UQs, with some cottage vendors offering them in 1" increments!

So my question is this: if you were going to buy a new custom partial length UQ, what length would you get (and how tall are you)?

    Other info: I'm 5'-7" in a 10' DIY gathered-end hammock, and I'm looking for a versatile 3-season UQ.

I usually do something in the 65-66" range, which is to say as long as I can possibly make it from 2yds of material. For me, this results in coverage from my shoulders to my feet, and I just need a pillow to insulate my head. I believe this is what has also been called a 7/8 UQ.

    I'm 5'9".

In order to cut the most weight/bulk, without sacrificing warm feet and messing with a foot pad, I decided on a 62". I'm 69" tall (5'9") and this covers me from shoulders to heels.

It depends on if you want to supplement your short quilt with a foam pad to keep your feet warm. If you do then you can be by with a very short quilt.

I'm 5'10" and I like my older JRB Greylock 3 at 52". Goes from shoulders to under my knees, the rest I use the foam pad from my backpack. Any longer partial uq for me interferes with my calves/ankles/feet and creates cold spots.

I'n 6'2" and I never go shorter than 58" on a fractional underquilt if I can help it (which is pretty much a 3/4 on me). I think the shortest practical length covers you from the nape of your neck down to the top of the foot pad in your top quilt, although gram weenies may differ.

I have a Gossamer Gear sit pad that came with my backpack that I plan to use for my feet. I believe it's dimensions are 10"x19".

I've never used a foot pad with my HG Phoenix 40. When it's cold enough to need a foot pad I will take my Incubator 20. Never needed anything under my feet above 40.
