VIDEO - Overnight trip in to North Idaho's winter wonderland

This was a quick trip up the river and into the mountains of North Idaho. It's been a good winter, so there is plenty of snow up here. It was snowing hard when we hit the trailhead, but by the time we made it to a camp, it was raining. The temperatures were not bad, but it was impossible to stay dry.

I didn't get any footage of my setup, but this was the maiden voyage for my new Hammock Gear under quilt. Actually it was my first trip using an under quilt at all. I can tell right away that I am going to have to pay more attention to my setup when using a UQ, but overall I am pleased with it and I stayed plenty warm.

We still had a great time though, and I cannot wait for the next one!

Man! I absolutely love your videos. You have such a calming voice and the scenery was outstanding. I really need to get out west and witness this much snow in person one of these days. Thanks a ton for sharing your trip with us and keep up the great work.

Thank you! I still hate my voice in this videos, but I am trying to get better at it. This has been a good snow year up here. Last year, I remember going out in early February and not needing snow shoes. This year if you get off trail and take a step without snow shoes you might sink up to your hip! Thanks for the support!

Thanks for checking it out! It is a lot of fun (and work) to get out and play in the deep stuff.

"And the snow turned to rain...and it rained during the night...and it was raining at the trailhead...and it started snowing" ... PNW!

Thanks for the video. There is nothing like the celebratory greaseburger and fries at the end of the trail.

Great video...not sure how I'd handle snow that deep, but I'd love to try if we ever get deep snow again here in Michigan.

Another great video. Loved seeing all that snow. And that rain - that must have been tough. Well a good gear test I suppose.

Great video and a beautiful setting. A+ on the narration - I think it's great.

I would have loved to see hammock setups...and more of that dog

    Cheers -
