    IN > Bloodroot Trail, Salamonie > Aug 5 & 6

I haven't slept in a hammock in two weeks, so I think I'll head out to the Bloodroot Trail on the Salamonie Reservoir tomorrow night. Camp 2 if it is open, camp 1 if it isn't. Is anyone interested in going?

It was a beautiful night, and no one else was on the Bloodroot trail. I never even got the tarp out of my pack. I'll try to post sooner next time. This trip was a list minute one because I had to back out of a bigger trip to Kentucky & I still wanted to sleep out one night.

I'm going with a friend tomorrow just over night. We are both retired and have some flexibility. You probably noticed the big tree that fell across the site. They also added a second fire ring just past the turn off. I went last week just for the morning and hung around and made lunch and ate some the wild blackberries on the way out.

Anyone who wants to join us, just meet us there Monday. We should be there about 2 or so.

Weather was great. Humidity was down and we didn't even take our rain flies. We had to camp at the new fire ring because there was a family at the regular one. It worked fine. Filtered water out of Salamonie with a gravity filter. We ate the black raspberries along the path on the way out again.
