I have really enjoyed this hammock after 21 nights. I decided I am going to try to engineer a net/cover-compatible version of the Web Slinger over the winter (my schedule permitting), so I will be using what I have learned here and going back to the drawing board...

This is a great build!
Back to Grizz's comment about saving weight by removing the metal corner pieces, another option is to replace the metal corner pieces with 1/4" grommets. I have used these on several of my bridge builds and they are light and surprisingly strong. . Here is an example...

Since you have a few Bridge projects, i just picked this one to ask a basic question.
The side/cat cuts, are they just using the same calculator as a tarp?
Also, you mentioned earlier in this post about using the Hang Calculator app for the clinometer function, I loved this when I got it and it helped me learn what the angle should look like, sadly that was removed in the latest update, it was about the most useful function in the app

Yes indeed. You can use any aspect ratio you deem appropriate for the catenary curves on the long edges of any of my bridge designs to tailor them to your specific DIY application, but all of my bridge hammocks to date have used approximately a 1:12 cat-cut for the edges. In conjunction with the arc length-to-spreader bar ratio and the dimensions of the suspension triangles, this shape of cut has tested well for comfort and stability. However, my hammock bodies are essentially scalable for a target length (user's height plus at least 6" works well), keeping most of the other measurements in the ball park of the prototypes. HTH...
