I really like how the new XLC is reversible.. but if you get a wooki, aren’t you still restricted to that same lay regardless— VS say a chameleon and a HG or similar UQ.. that’s what’s kept me on the fence about getting the wooki.

Hadn't you heard? WB is coming out with a brand new wacki, i.e. a reversible wooki. Just made that up. but just wait, I'm sure Brandon already has the tin foil hat on and, whats that burning feathers smell?

But seriously, I haven't tried it since I have a right lay, but when I look my wooki it is seems if you turned the wooki upside down it would also reverse. I know it would loose some of it's insulation value through compression, but it certainly would work better than having nothing.

You reverse that wooki and it will not do much at all I suspect

Well..., as my mom use to say "Can't never did anything".

What we need is someone to give it a go. I currently do not have a GE hammock other than the right lay WBBB XLC or I would give it a shot. It will be weeks/months before the Sparrow arrives.

Folks i flipped the net on my new xlc and flipped the 3S wooki in 29 degree F weather just to see what happens. The baffles get compressed and will not retain enough heat to get you through. Just my opinion feel free to try it yourself

Thanks for giving it a go so that we could base it on experience.

I think most folks have, or come to a decision on what is the most comfortable, lay for them. The nice thing about a convertible hammock is it lets you decide which lay you prefer. Plus, it has a wider resale market. For folks using a WBBB or XLC I don't think they are going to be flipping the top a whole lot for amusement. Others, like myself, are ambidextrous, or what ever the correct term is, enough to lay anyway and be comfortable. That is why I had no hesitation when I picked up a lightly used XLC on FS:. My wooki came from the same source. Therefore, I will be a right lay when I use the XLC.

So, I suppose folks can experiment to discover what is their preferred lay BEFORE making a commitment on what wooki to purchase; or purchase a more ubiquitous style UQ; or wait for Brandon to introduce the wacki.

Papatechie, did you loosen up the rubber band? I wonder if that would help reduce down compression enough to give it more loft? Not the ultimate solution, but tinker I must.

I think the correct term could be:
    - ambi-hammy
    - ambi-lay-zy
    - ambi-conflicted
    - ambi-comfy

Hey, Eureka!, lets say if the UQ attached to the fabric liner via snaps/zippers/velcro/etc. all you would need to do is reposition the UQ according to the desired lay, i.e. change the diagonal of the lofty UQ in relationship to the fabric...and the wacki is born.

Oops! I forgot to add, this means I should be eligible for a test flight of a proto wacki, eh?
