Making Warbonnet Wooki work with non-warbonnet hammocks.

Since this is one of the most brilliant quilt-designs I've personally seen I feel certain many people will purchase it, although they might not use one of the hammocks it was designed for.

I received my 3-season wookie yesterday (10 days after ordering it ... Shipped to Sweden and passed through customs - outstanding!!!). And since I don't own a warbonnet hammock I had to figure out how to make it work with what I got, a 10.5 foot Dutch Half-Wit.

Some stuff I didn't realize before hand and had me scratch my head a bit to begin with. Warbonnets hammocks are designed to be hung with the foot end higher than the head end more so that what I was used to. So initially, I found myself missing insulation under my feet. Once I raised the foot end further and further I slid more and more into the correct position.

I did end up making some loops with prussics on the continuous loops of my hammock, so I could easily "slide" the quilt forth and back a bit, and adjust tension as well. I was surprised that I had to loosen the quilt so much, as the half-wit hammock is 0.5' shorter than the Warbonnet Blackbird XLC it's designed for. Since I don't want to alter the quilt at all, I'm hoping to test it on a BBXLC at some point, just to see how it's hung on that.

It took me maybe a total of half an hour (where the majority of the time was spent "feeling the heat" in the hammock) to adjust the loops to the position I felt comfortable with. Now it should be plug and play, next time I hang my hammock - I just need to remember hanging the foot end quite a bit higher than what I'm used to

There really isn't anything that needed to be done. I did use one of the tie out spots on my raven to thread the shockcord through the loop on the wooki to keep it pulled up on the right side. I don't think it was really necessary.
