    My 1st Top Quilt build

    Hey Everyone,

I just completed my 1st down top quilt. In my opinion it turned out pretty good. It came in a little shorter than I thought it would on length but perfect on width. I made it out of 1.1 oz rip stop nylon and 700 fill down. I made it with 2" baffles. I chose to keep it a rectangle rather than taper it and used a draw cord and 4 snaps to make the foot box. That way it could double as a down blanket as well. Now I just have to test it out.

    Length: 69"
    Width: 52"
    Weight: 1 lb. 7.6 oz.

It was great to finish! I haven't used a sewing machine, I mean "Thread Injector" since I was in Jr. High Home Ec. 19 years ago. I was just happy it turned out. If I make a another one I'll need to come up with another way to put in the down. I made the mistake of ordering the down in one big bag...needless to say I had a bathroom full of down floating around.

I used camo because in my mind I'll be able to take this hunting too. The other reason I used a draw cord was so I could put my feet all the way through while in a tree stand. Hunting in PA gets too cold in my opinion to enjoy so maybe this could be a solution. Again, I'll need to test it out.
