    Chameleon, when to go wide?

    Hi everyone,

I just wondered when you should go wide on the Chameleon? I have a HH Explorer Deluxe and am just over 6'2" (190cm).
I find that I can almost get comfortable in the HH, but there is no room to go on or any leeway to adjust my lay much. I also get a little bit of shoulder squeeze and extended knee joint.

Would the Wide version be a better option, or is the Chameleon standard model more roomy than the HH to begin with? What would be the advice here on the forum?

I live in Norway, so it is very hard for me to try out hammocks in advance, which is why I am extra careful about my choice.

    Chris

Watching this thread. I'm also debating the wide Chameleon. I went from a HH Explorer Deluxe (~59" W) to a WBBB XLB (~63" W). I'm not sure whether the jump to 70" W will add a lot more fabric but not a lot more comfort.

Same question here. Both my current hammocks are 11' x64"w. I am wondering if 70" will give a better lay or just a bunch of extra fabric. I am especially curious since a shock corded uq almost always seems to force me to lay closer to the axis of the hammock and on less of a diagonal. Feedback please from someone in the know!

I have 64 and 72 inch wide hammocks. It's a no-brainer, go wide. For an extra 15 bucks and a small weight penalty, the comfort is well worth it.

My experience with 11' hammocks is between a 58" and a 70" (the chameleon will be 70"). All I know is that the 70" allows me to sleep comfortably-- and I've successfully used a standard width UQ on it (though its a "tall" size UQ-- 44" x 83"). Hits the sweet spot for me as a tall hanger (6'4").

Unfortunately, I can't speak to those intermediate widths like 64".

Partly off topic BUT If I'm prepaid for the kickstarter. (I am paid). DO I pay the extra for wide on the day it ends; I think Feb 15th?

I'm new to features added between buying something and shipping it set up differently.

You add the $15 to the pledge then send a message saying what it was for.

Curious. Were you able to tell a difference between the HH and WBBB with only 4" extra? I know they are different but the are both GE hammocks.
