    fronkey mosquito (not noseeum) net

Ok, let me start by saying I can't stand bug nets. I love being out in the open. However, camping in Georgia, I do have to use them during the summer months (I'm not a mosquito magnet, but they'll eventually get me when it's warm enough). I tried the Thermacell, and while it works great, it has the drawback of being quite expensive and requiring a recharge during in the night.

So, I've decided I need a bug net solution, but I'm looking for one that will not trap so much excess heat (I'd rather get bit than take the extra heat). I like the fronkey solution, but all the ones I've seen for sale are either noseeum or nanoseeum. Is anyone aware of a vendor selling a fronkey net made out of actual mosquito netting?

Lol what do you consider "actual" mosquito netting? A net that keeps mosquito's out? That's actually what nanonoseeum does. Are you just wanting a heavier bulkier material for some reason?

I'm talking about something like this.

Bigger holes == better air circulation == less trapped heat (at least that's my feeling).

There's no issue with air circulation in my nanonoseeum fronkey style bug net. I guess if you want something that weighs 3 times as much and let's in smaller bugs then go for it

Interesting -- I've seen several people here say that nanoseeum gets pretty stuffy.

I think it definitely restricts air movement, but in really buggy environments (like Texas summers), it's better at keeping the gnats at bay. I like Fronkey's design... when bug season is over, I much prefer going net less. HYOH, choose whichever you think would be a better fit. I one of each..

I've been in a cotton mosquito net in the amazon and that was very stifling. By comparison, everything else is breezy.

I just can't even imagine that... I've used them in Africa and Asia... but the Amazon and cotton....

I had no problem with my DIY noseeum fronkey style. I think it just depends on the person. But I question how much heat a bug net can actually hold vs people blaming the bug net when it could just be something else.

I've tried both materials, haven't had issues with any bugs getting through either one. Especially if you do a Permethrin dip, the odds of a gnat flying through a hole without contact are pretty small.

I quit using mosquito netting because it's heavier and less durable (snags a lot more) with no extra function. They both retain heat and impede air flow.
