Super report BB58. Your posts tend to have a higher word count than most but they're so packed with info. Gotta agree that getting the SS adjusted right is very hard unless you have a Hennessy with the zipper mod. You have to be able to reach outside the hammock and feel.

'Classic.' A book which people praise and don't read.” ― Mark Twain

Who cares about showers, gourmet food, using flush toilets. Just keep on walking and being away from it all.

There are times that the only way you can do something is to do it alone.

Hey BB, nice to see you in a SS again. Your configuration was pretty close to the one I used last winter. One advantage of the UC is the use you can put all your cold weather clothing to for under-insulation. Multitasking!

I never had the challenges with the UC tension. I never play with it at all.

Similar to your experience I have found a mummy bag to be very effective contrary to popular wisdom. Tough to keep the head warmer than a mummy bag does, and how many times have we heard our mothers tell us to keep our head warm because that's where all the heat loss is!

My HH and SS recently arrived in my new home in Tucson with the rest of my worldly possessions, so once things settle down I hope to get out in the field with it again to see what it feels like after 4 months with a WB.

    Warm regards,
    Kurt

Great test and report, BB. Have you tried using the MWUQ4 as a top quilt? Works for me.
