    Dream Hammock Darien

My Dream Hammock Darien 1.0 Robic XL Single Layer with .5oz netting. Burnt Orange with Continuous Loop - I love this Hammock. It is my go-to for backpacking trips. Ultra light (under 13oz with continuous loop, whoopie hooks, and Dyneema Tree Huggers). I have a lot of hammocks and I end up pulling this one out more often than not...even when weight isn't an issue. It is super comfortable, built really well. I've probably spent close to 30 nights in it and have next to no wear and tear. Here it is in Wyoming...

Id order one if they still offered them in 1.0 as I like the design and features, but was told they 'not too interested in doing anymore of the single layers in 1.0 or 1.1 fabrics'. Maybe someday they will again.

Me as well. I wish they would bring the lighter fabrics back in the Darien.

I really don't understand Randy's reluctance to sew 1.0 fabrics. Let the buyer beware sort of thing. Caveat Emptor. Slap a disclaimer on it, whatever.

Disclamer or no as a vendor it is best to be safe than to be sorry. I don't know that Papa Smurf could afford to be tied up in possible litigation because someone was less than careful with a lighter weight fabric. Simular to the way Dutch won't recommend the dynaglide be used for suspension. Sure if you are light and use it carefully it will be fine. All you need is one mouth breather pushing the weight limit and swinging in their hammock, then boom ! Better call Saul cause their gonna sue.

I'm sorry but I don't buy that argument. The exact same scenario could play out regardless of fabric weight.

We are not comfortable building hammocks using the currently available 1.0oz & 1.1oz fabrics because of durability concerns. We will continue to evaluate new fabrics as they come out to see if they will work well for our hammocks.

"buyer beware" "caveat emptor", "slap a disclaimer on it"..... If that's the kinda hammock you want, there are many other companies who specialize in "off the shelf" or "cookie cutter" products that are geared more to moving products quickly and less on individual customization and high quality.

I would buy one right now in 1.0. I really am perplexed at all of the 1.7 and 1.9 double layers out there. Are people really that heavy and are there that many car campers?
