What are the pros and cons of the single vs double Snake Skins/Skin???
I made myself both a single sleeve and a set of double skins. The double skins were only on my tarp for about 3 minutes. The bubble in the middles was a pain. I put the single on and have never taken it off. So much easier to slide over the whole tarp.

A double skin can do double duty as a rain block. Something a single can only do on one end.
Single all the way. I live in the Pac NW and camp in heavy rain. Have never missed having two acting as rain blocks.
The difference is with two you have to think about working out the bubble etc.
with one you just slide it down in one go. For me it is literally a fraction of the time. It worked great the first go.

For y'all who use a single skin, is it tapered or straight? I've heard of folks doing it both ways and am about to make one myself. Thanks.
I've been using double (Hennessy XL snakeskins) and I think they're great. I never have a problem with a bubble in the middle as I sort of roll each side of the tarp up and then slide it over. The tarp is so thin and light you just have to squeeze it a bit and it shrinks down really small. Plus in the center when both sides of the snake skin cross each other they do a good job of covering any bump there may be.

I like using a single. It's really just a preference. It is just faster for me. I'm using the Hammock Gear Cuben Sleeve with my Superfly.
