Since there is already some talk of a hike into Damsacus at Trail Days, I thought I'd start the first poll to see who was interested in hiking which direction. So, which way do we go? NOBO? SOBO? Indifferent? Let us know!

Boy, that's a really good question....I have to check it out first, and then give my poll answer. Thanks Hooch.

Don't care which way. My boots miss the AT!
Trust nobody!
Well i'm from up north i figured i would just save some gas and and stop somewhere north of damascus and hike down... this at thing is really getting to me. now i just gotta figure out how to thru...
It's really easy. You just lace up your boots, put your pack on, and put one foot in front of the other till you're tired, then sleep. Repeat as necessary.
Nobo is probably going to be the easiest hiking if that matters to anyone. Got that nice gentle down slope all the way into Damascus. Course, Sobo you get to finish on the Creeper if you so choose and I just remembered how good the Strawberry Shake was at that little diner about 5 or 6 miles north of Damascus on the Creeper.
Trust nobody!
I voted for South to North - i'm going to drive up from Houston - I haven't done any miles on the AT - so the south sounded good to me.
Btw, at this point i'm traveling alone - anyone between Houston and Virgina that needs a ride, let me know!
SOBO sure sounds like a winner to me so far, nothing I like better after coming off of a trail than strawberry ice cream, then of course there is a whole bunch to say about alot of other flavors too.
What kind of terrain (which includes views and nature stuff) would be involved with a SOBO and/or NOBO trip? I also like the sound of ending on the CREEPER trail.

Well, being here in W.N.C., it only makes sense for me to vote NOBO.
Course, any time your on the AT is a good time!!
Is this becoming a group event?
I always hike toward the destination... hiking with Hooch, I noticed that he doesn't always bother with that. He's full of jokes, though, so I did not mind.
