Hmmm,
I have a -40dF down bag from the 70s that weighs 4# even.
Might have to try it.

OPEN TOP Grand Trunk hammock, NO TARP
Sleeping bag was the Army Modular (all 3 pieces)
a fleece blanket doubled up on the bottom
2 pair walmart socks
insulated coverall
and I had to take the jacket off @1am
The Gortex cover is kick butt
The GI Extreeme is still better, but this bag will take the cold also.
For the POUND HOGS,
Mine weigh
ICW 7.51
ECW9.54
Modular bag 9.62
yes they are heavy and bulky, but WARM with out all the extras needed.
I have no ntentions to hike or back pack with these....
A PROUD CAR/CANOE CAMPER
Oh got it.
Wow!! 11# sleeping bag!
I have to admit, the fact it says -50* is interesting, and it does look like a great bag.
I sure wouldn't want to tote it any great distance. Mt. Roger's would be a good testing ground though.
Holy loft! Maybe I'll make a SUL 900fp .8oz/yd momentum 12" baffles PeaPod with a battery powered foot warmer.
