    Dutch Chameleon Fabric Choices

I backed Dutch's Kickstarter Chameleon project and am very excited to receive it as this will be my very first hammock ever.

My question to you is this...

What material should I choose? I don't mean color, but rather Hexon 1.0, 1.6, or 2.4. According to Dutch's Kickstarter page, Hexon 1.0 has a weight rating of 250lbs, Hexon 1.6 = 350lbs and Hexon 2.4 = 400lbs. I weigh about 200lbs or so, depending on the most recent meal, and so I'm inclined to choose the Hexon 1.0, however, I want to know if there is any reason why I should go for another fabric? Perhaps one is more comfortable than the other. Maybe a heavier fabric will provide more security, or is better protection from mosquitoes biting through it, etc.

What are your thoughts on the material options for the Dutch Chameleon, and which do you think I should choose?

If you don't need it to be ultralight, then I would chose the 1.6. I use 1.0 for hiking, I am 215.
    Peace Dutch

I'm 250 and have a hammock in 2.4 and 1.6. I really like both but the 1.6 has the slightest but more stretch and is lighter. Both are low-stretch compared to other materials. Ultimately I prefer the 1.6 for the weight.

I'd go with 1.6 just to have a little less stretch.

What Dutch said. If you're not interested in the weight savings go with the 1.6. Of every ounce is important to you go 1.0

1.6 for me. The gram weenie in me would prefer 1.0, but at 248 I'd rather not risk it. Maybe after I lose a bit I'll get one in 1.0.

This question has haunted me for a few weeks now, at the moment im leaning towards the 1.0 since i weight in at 172 lbs.
On the other hand i would love to have it in black and then it's the 1.6.

    Trailworthiniess FTW!

I went with Hexon 1.6, which, at a max load capacity of 350 could hold exactly two of me, but why worry?

I also prefer the slightly firmer lay of the heavier fabric, which was the real deciding factor, well worth the extra 3.6 ounces.
