    Hello from upstate SC.

I'm new to the hammock scene. My son, brother and his kids have been elevated for quite some time.
I was given a Firelite for Christmas and and am getting around to seeing how all this works.

I've learned 2 things in my short time. 1. Hammocks can make you have a cold buttocks. 2. Shug is the man. I've watched his 10 part series for noobs as well as his through hike with Hickory on the Foothills Trail (it's in my back yard). Very nice video, well explained.

Welcome to Hammock Forums. The beauty is that "Cold Butt Syndrome" (CBS) is very curable with a nice under quilt and even more so if that quilt is stuffed with that beautiful down.

Hello neighbor, I'm from the upstate as well, love the foothills trail. Had CBS one time and ONLY one time not
a good thing at all, got my under quilt from Hammock Gear really great quality. But if you watch Shugs videos you
probably know all about them. And you are definitely at the right place to learn all about hammocks.

Welcome from Charlotte. Foothills trail is gorgeous. Hammocking is like swimming, you can read about it, you can watch some videos, but you've got to get out there. We've got mild weather around here most of the time, get out there soon. Good luck, see you on the trails.
Crayons - they might look different, but they all taste the same

That would be fun. When i get comfortable off the ground I'll be game.
