    Cheaha Wilderness Question

I'm looking at heading to Cheaha next week and have been looking at starting at nubbin creek trailhead and heading up to "heaven". Camp there and then hike out the next morning via the chinnabee silent trail to the chinnabee trailhead where we will have vehicle awaiting us.
Anybody have any info on this?
I haven't found much on the web

    Thanks
    Handyman

I do not have any information that would help you but please post a trip report when you get back because many questions have been asked about this area so we need more intel.

Check the pinhoti trail Facebook pages, too. They have a lot of info about that area. Hugh Hickman, I think, is the name of the local expert.

There's a very convenient campground called Turnipseed right by the Chinnabee trailhead. It's surprisingly under used most of the time so there's usually not a problem finding a quiet spot off to yourself, and there's good water access just a couple hundred yards up the trail (uphill side). Great for those late arrivals when it's too late to hike in to camp. Hope that's useful.

We hiked Adams Gap to the Cheaha State Park. Nice trail, although it did get a little busy the closer we got to the park. Water was a little scarce so make sure you fill up when you can. The stairway to heaven area is challenging, especially if your built low to the ground such as I am. Do not sleep on the scenic overlook areas as the wind will wear you out. Step back into the woods and enjoy the overlook, then go back to your campsite. We stayed on the trail and did just fine with that. Also, the rangers are good about giving you a lift to the drop off. Dont forget to tip em. Have a great time, wish I was going.
    Oops, we hiked Pinhoti trail.
