Hi everyone.
So I live just outside of Ottawa, Canada, where the winters can be a bit nippy. I was a scouter for the past 3 years, but I never had the chance to winter camp until this year, and I have never hammock camped before. So when I got an Vivere hammock this Christmas (ENO knock-off), the other scouters said I should try it during winter camp. So with a lot of research and more than a little trepidation, I said, ok, let's do it. So last weekend, I made the leap, so to speak.
The weather this weekend turned out ideal. -1C for the daytime high, -9 for the low, with little wind and only a couple of flurries. Paranoid about cold as I was, I double bagged my sleeping bags and had a sleeping pad and reflectix beneath me. Definitely overkill, and my pad kept trying to escape out at my feet at night. So not the most comfortable sleep, but definitely not cold.
Here's a picture of my setup.

Anyway, I will definitely do more hammock camping. Next project? Bug net!
