New to the hanging thing...from Vermont

My name is Josh, I'm originally from Vermont but I am living in Upstate NY now...a hop, skip, and a jump from the Adirondacks. Unfortunately you cannot hammock in the ADKs. I decided to buy a hammock to hike the Long Trail, in August, with my girlfriend. We will be NOBO and pushing for 21 days total. I have decided to go with the WBBB XLC Single layer 1.7 with the MamaJamba tarp. I haven't bought it yet and am still open to suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome from Marietta GA. You have some time before your trip, so I'd recommend doing a little research before buying your hammock. That said, I'm sure you'd be happy with the WBBB if you went ahead and pulled the trigger. Good luck on your upcoming LT Thru and happy hanging!

Can't use a hammock in the Adirondacks? That's news to me. I've been hammocking in the Adirondacks every year since 2010. We have many ADK HF members who might also be surprised to learn hammocks aren't allowed in the Adirondacks.

Welcome to Hammock Forums Josh. That should be a good choice for a through hike of the Long Trail. Why can't you hang in the Adirondacks? What gear is your GF taking?
