    I know the area pretty well, in the combes there are scatterings of hawthorn copses like the one I camped in. There are some plantations too, but I was being considerate of the ground dwellers (tho I expect they would have been happier up on the wild tops of the moor).

    Nice report!

    That some interesting and pretty diverse countryside, the trial along the coast was almost like one I hiked in Hawaii with the steep drop offs. I liked the Starbucks coffee comment. Looks like a good time was had any all as it should. Thank you for posting.

    Exmoor is a lovely part of the world.
    I think the SW cost path is the longest of long distance trails in the UK, at over 600 miles (not exactly the AT, I know!). It's getting longer too, there are plans to open a path all the way around the UK coast.
