ViDEO: Closer Look at Whoopie Slings for Suspension

Seems not everyone really knows what a Whoopie Sling is or how it works. So lets take a closer look.
    Hope it helps.

    Shug,
I know they always say on the knot and not the toggle but wouldn't that toggle you are using handle the weight? Thanks for the video. I tried whoopies but there are simply too many things to keep up with for me the consummate looser of "things" so back to always attached straps for me.

I kept looking at that Wookie in the background. Was nice to see your Raven too.

You know on a Dutch whoopie hook suspension you can also attach it to a marlinspike hitch as well...no need to larkshead it to the end of a hugger. Gives you more options if you run out of room.

I would not want to trust the toggle...knot for me. It is in my DNA.
It is all just a choice.

It is fun to play around and try different things. Beauty of a hammock system.

I assumed folks would figure that out about a dutch whoopie hook as they play with it. Part of the fun...discovery! Wanted to show the larkshead and the tree wrap as I have seen a few stymied with that.

This is not late breaking news. But I really like using a strong caribeaner to replace the toggle. Because it does not stress the whoopie slings nor the strap. Options, yes.
    image.jpg

Also I cannot seem to figure out what on the toggle means. I always look at it and say: not the toggle the knot, but for the life of me can't figure the bad way to avoid. So I just go with the beaner, as the security is comforting.......

Also, the sling doesn't come unattached.

Toggle..it meand the whoopie would be wrapped over the toggle ends instead of being on and embedded in/on the knot. The end of whoopie would actually be in contact with the toggle. Make sense?
I don't think the whoopie or strap are being stressed by the toggle. I have been hanging that way for 9 years and been using the same tree straps all that time. Still going strong!
