Brian has listed on his website he is planning on coming out with the "ultimate winter tarp". Does anyone know the status of his winter tarp. It sure is cold in Ky and I really "NEED" a winter tarp.

My suggestion would be to pm him or e-mail his site for info. He is an outgoing college guy and busy. I'm sure he took a winter break, like all college folks.
Ambulo tua ambulo.
Thanks I will PM Brian, I was having trouble e-mailing him and was hoping one of the amazing hangers on this site had some inside info, as usual!
I heard from Brian before Christmas that the CAD designing portion of the winter tarp project was completed. I wrote that I was willing to order one "blind" just after that, but haven't heard anything back. So far, the Deluxe has been doing a good job for me this winter and I'm now considering abandoning the winter tarp idea and just going with the Deluxe for the remainder of the winter.

Not sure of the status but here are a couple of pics of the one he made for me. I have it inside out but you can probably see that it has two side panel tieouts on each side.
Sorry - keep trying to add the pictures in but I guess I don't know how? Here is a link: http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/a...hp?albumid=228 http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/a...hp?albumid=228

yep, just email or pm him and he'll pretty much make anything you want. as said, he is in college and it sometimes takes awhile to get a response, last I heard he was taking a short vacation before this semester started.
that said, it's worth it, whatever the wait time

Mr. Toot, what does the tarp weigh?
If it's to bulky and cumbersome for you, I know someone that would take it off your hands.
AC has a sweet OES 12x10 winter tarp in Ninja Black. http://www.hammockforums.net/gallery...3_original.jpg
I actually never weighed it myself but here is the quote from Brian when he gave me an estimate: "I estimate the weight to be just around 20.5-21oz". It is right in the ballpark and packs down nice and small in the sack he provides. Sorry, as for now it is a keeper.
I was out with it Dec 11-13 and it nicely held about 2 inches of sleet before I popped it off upon waking. Nice piece of gear!
I'm in the same boat as Quoddy. Talked to Brian in the early fall about a winter tarp in Spinn. Got all excited, but nothing since then. I still have the occasional dream about it, but I try not to think about it too much.
Trust nobody!
