    Hex 2.2

Can anyone give me an idea on the feel of the Hex 2.2? I guess I'd like to know how comfortable you think it is (stretch, lay, texture). Thanks guys and gals!

If you contact randy at DH he may send you a sample of it for a small fee. That would be the best way to figure out the feel and see the texture of it. I personally like feel the hyperD the best of all the hammock fabrics I have had or have (this includes the argon, nylonD and hexon 1.6)

Not hardly any stretch and while not as soft like a 1.6. More of a nylon feel. At 360 it's pretty comfy, I just need to put it at least a very good sag in it

Rip stop by the roll will send you samples as well. I wouldn't say the 2.2 feels 'soft' but it's by no means rough or uncomfortable. It has a fairly firm lay with very little stretch. I have a DIY with this fabric and would definitely use it again. On the 1.6 I prefer a double layer but the 2.2 is fine on it's own.

I actually really like the Hex2.2. I thinks it's got a great hand and gives me the firmness I like in a hammock. IMHO, the ultralight fabrics most are using today, are too "stretchy" and it's pretty easy to mistakenly pop a hole in the fabric. The 2.2 I think will be a bit more durable too.

For a heavy fabric, the HEX70 had more stretch than I expected. Certainly more than the 2.4oz Hexon, and at least as much as the 1.9oz ripstop nylon. If not even a bit more. My guess is that this has to do with the unusual ripstop pattern. The touch is not great; to me it feels kind of coarse. But if you're looking for something robust with a bit more give, the HEX70 should suit you fine.

The Hex 2.2 for me had no stretch and I am convinced that it is what got rid of the calf ridge pressure I have been having trouble with for years... Love this stuff.

I agree. the 2.2oz Hex70 provides great support with very little (or no) stretch for my 230lbs. Using a slightly heavier, more supportive fabric will indeed hold you a little higher in the hammock and reduce calf ridge pressure.

I have a sparrow coming made with 1.6 Hyper D (#4812), but was able to pick up a Raven here on the forum (#4436) that is the Hex70. Just wanted to see what others think of the fabrics.
