swapping a Blackbird XLC to straps with Dutch cinch bugs

So i had my first big rainstorm in the hammock a little while ago and quickly learned that having the buckles/straps with the Blackbird kinda sucks, I either have to put the wet straps in with the dry hammock or totally unthread the buckles (which is a total pain).

I recently came across Dutch's cinch bugs and that seems like a super awesome alternative.

My question is, do you think it's worth it to get two new continuous loops and swap out warbonnet's with the 2 buckles on there? I suppose i could just leave the buckles and deal with the extra couple of ounces. It's also my first hammock and i'm a little unsure about it. Warbonnet's video makes it seem pretty simple.

What are your thoughts, fine folks?

I did that with my XLC . I use a Dutchbiner to connect the stock suspension just so I can pack the suspension separate and not get my hammock wet or sappy. Now when I go to sell it to finance my Chameleon it will be like new condition!

Yes, it's pretty easy to swap out for CLs. I did mine, and I'm far from the handiest person here.

I stuff my hammock in the bag and leave the straps stowed on the outside. Don't know if that will work for you but I thought I'd throw it out there.

That's exactly what I want to do (I've got an AT thru coming up) so that's why the cinch bugs caught my eye.

I think I'll give it a shot and if I flub it...well how hard can it be
