6th Annual Winter Yeti Hang > Trip Report

I just want to thank everyone that made this hang possible....We all had a great time with great weather....not too cold.... but we did get about 4-5 inches of fresh white stuff on top of 4-5 feet of base depth....which made the hang that much better!!!! MoMo and I had such a wonderful time with all of you. She has slept since we left and I figure she will sleep until tomorrow. I'm so glad everyone enjoyed her being there and being a fellow hanger!!!!
I'm looking forward to seeing some of the pictures that everyone took....so please post your pics and tell us about your experience.

That fire pit is so neat other than giving one a cold butt Did you guys dig that or allow the fire to cut that in and then shape it?

My son and I had a blast! Is it really the sixth annual hang? I've completely lost count. Who made those great bars we had last night? I would love to have the recipe. I hope to see you all again in the future at another great hang. Spring anyone?

@ Trailslug It was Maztrain's great idea we all took turns digging and had a few pulks to haul the snow out. The fire slowly widened it as well.

@bgraybackpacker Tsunamihazardzone made those delicious "fat bars". +1 on wanting that recipe.

Everyone thanks for hangin out, I hope to see ya'all at future hangs. And maybe I'll be a bit more prepared next hang 😂 I was toasty warm but forgetting utensils was pretty darn embarrassing.

Not to rub it in, but I slept in shorts and a t-shirt with no quilt at HangCon this weekend.

Seriously, I miss being up north. This looks like it was an awesome hang. Thanks for sharing.

    Hey All,
I can't think of a better result from getting dropped off in a parking lot and picked up by strangers to drive out into the snow and camp together. I had an awesome time! It was my first group hang and snow hang. Excellent on both accounts. Many thanks to maztrain for driving the organization, and to all who attended for making it such a great time! Thank you very much to mcbpdx for driving me there and back!
I look forward to seeing you all at future hangs.

Here is the recipe I used for the 'fat bombs' aka blackberry lemon bars
My modifications were to use real sugar and add waaayyyy more to taste. I also added a bit more lemon juice and the zest of all the lemons I squeezed.

I'll paste the link at the bottom of the post, but I pasted the recipe here to spare you the all the dieting site I found it on .
I had never heard of these but was looking for high cal / high fat food to help keep everyone warm and a friend mentioned these. I think you can make them in pretty much any flavor (including fudge).
    Enjoy!

    Blackberry Coconut Fat Bombs

    Prep Time 5 minutes
    Cook Time 5 minutes
    Total Time 10 minutes
    Servings 16 small squares

Author Lisa | Low Carb Yum

    Ingredients
1 cup coconut butter see note for how to make homemade
    1 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup fresh or frozen blackberries can use raspberries or strawberries if desired
1/2 teaspoon SweetLeaf stevia drops add a bit more for sweeter taste
1/4 teaspoon vanilla powder or 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1 tablespoon lemon juice
    Instructions
Place coconut butter, coconut oil and blackberries in a pot and heat over medium heat until well combined.
In a food processor or small blender, add berry mix and remaining ingredients. Process until smooth.
Spread out into a small pan lined with parchment paper (I used 6x6-inch container)
Refrigerate one hour or until mix has hardened.
Remove from container and cut into squares.
    Store covered in the refrigerator.

    Recipe Notes
To make coconut butter, place about 2 cups unsweetened dried coconut flakes into food processor and process until butter forms (about 7-8 minutes).
