Here's a look at Dutch's Double Chameleon using his spreader bar and the new Beetle Buckles to hang two Chameleons side by side from a single set of trees.

Shoot another video with a tarp that works when you get a chance.
I did the spreader bar with the double whoopie hooks with my 6 year old and quickly decided it was not for me.
Also decided I feel more safe and comfy with one tarp per person - my wife agrees.
YMMV
Like he colors you picked sintax!

We're currently checking out our options, so I'll post an update or take it on a trip vid at some point. Sara doesn't mess around with winter camping though, so we've got a couple of months to figure it out
Gotta give Sara credit for that as well. She was the set designer for this one. Her top cover is actually the same color as my hammock body and vice versa. Pretty cheery compared to the knee-jerk olive drab choice I would have made, haha.

A cheapish option to try/ look into might be the Kelty Noah's Tarp 12x12. I haven't tried it but I've seen reference to others using it with spreader bars on double whoopie hooks. Someone else might want to chime in if they have tried it before.

Well - I've tried us both under one tarp - my superfly...side by side it just does not feel "secure" to me .... I got worried about if there was rain or wind and my ability to tighten up the "hatches" is more limited.
And I just slept bad attached - probably more psychological in thy aspect - felt like if I moved he would wake up - you do feel each other moving - not bad though but enough to "bother me".
This is very much "your mileage may vary" territory though I'm sure

My wife and I hang double using Dutch's system under a Kelty Noah's 12.
True, you can't really batten it down in bad weather like you could hanging single.
True, you feel it when the other person gets up or shifts positions.
That said we've used it in pretty heavy rain, and stayed high and dry.
We love being close to each other, being able to talk without yelling across a campsite, and just knowing the other one is right there. The occasional shifting and moving isn't much different from being in bed at home.
HYOH and YMMV and all that.
S77, Haven't watched the vid yet, but hope y'all enjoy your new setup. I don't think there are any Chameleons in our future any time soon. I do love watching your trip reports, looking forward to more.
I can't believe Dutch didn't coin the term "Double Dutch" before you did. Made me smile.
Go to urban dictionary and type "double Dutch...."
And see what you get hahaha

Thanks, I forgot about that tarp. I'm going to gave to check it out. This system has made me look at tarps in a new way. Until now, I never really thought much about the fact that all of my "real" backpacking tarps are a hex cut of some kind. Now I'm going back to the drawing board - on a quest for a decent rectangular tarp.
In the mean time, there's always the classic blue trucker's tarp
