New hanger from CT! (Where my other ladies at !)

Hi everyone, tryin to beat these winter blues, cheering myself up by reading this wonderful forum.
Very new lady hanger, love to backpack, would love to meet other ladies who are into backpacking and hammock-ing. I've only gone backpacking with my hammock once, inadequate equipment led to a very cold night
Underestimated the importance of the underquilt
Tried out an improvised underquilt this fall, half assed made from Costco down blanket, world of difference! Looking forward to learning lots more, and actually getting a good nights sleep while backpacking
    Jen

    I sew things on youtube.
I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.

Welcome from CT as well! I too had the good and painful learning experience of being under prepared. I now have my system setup great and have had it down to 16F with no issues! Slow and steady and tweak, tweak, tweak is how I get it done. I go out in my back yard against some woods to test new ways of trying to stay warm and do other camp stuff. Makes it a lot less stressful. Good luck!

Thanks everyone, what a warm welcome!! And yes, tweak tweak tweak is exactly right, even My half a**ed "underquilt" made a world of difference. I'll keep bothering y'all and get even better. I'm looking into the dream hammock Darien, debating whether to get a customized 9 ft or go with the 10 ft length.

I wonder how it is we have come to this place in our society where art and nature are spoke in terms of what is optional, the pastime and concern of the elite?
