    A Big Arizona Howdy

Shug on youtube steered me this way - he's a kick to watch.

    - I'm an old guy with a back that is getting crankier every year.

I have not been camping since I sold my trailer when I got
married over 20 years ago (wife thinks Motel 6 is camping).

So I retired and am wanting to get back out into the woods
of northern Arizona. I don't want to buy a trailer and
I don't want to try and set up a big tent with air mattress
so I'm going to try to be a "hanger" and see how it goes.

The other youtuber that drew my interest to hammocks
    was ReallyBigMoney1 - David Pearson.

So I'm open to any suggestions or wisdom any care to pass on.

My first step is to read and try in my back yard before moving
up to cool area to hang.

Very wise. Always test unproven gear in a safe place with a convenient bail-out before hitting the wilds with it.

Hello and welcome to the forums from Marietta GA. Happy hanging!

Welcome from another oldish guy with a bad back. I had back surgery 30 years ago and have been dealing with it since. Yep that Shug is to blame for many of us being here If you can learn to take your time and enjoy this hobby is very fulfilling and wonderful. I'm still trying to learn to stop and smell the roses but after this many years that may not happen. Let us know if you have any questions and above all take your time and have fun!

Hello from another AZ hanger! Between up around Payson/Prescott/Flagstaff and down around Tucson we have some premim hiking and hanging areas around. Always good to see another local join the community.

Welcome from far West Texas, lot of great hanging all around you. Keep an eye out for the Arizona Spring Hang. It's a great opportunity to meet and see all sorts of gear. Welcome to the trees!
