This is the trip report for the 2017 Hangcon. We're actually at the hang now but we wanted to start the thread so we won't have several different Hangcon threads cluttering up the forum. Please post here on your experiences at the hang, once it concludes.
Great Hang, lots of fun and lots of monkeys on our paddle down the Silver river. Thanks again to all the vendors very impressive prize table. I scored a buff from Batch Stovez. THANKS SAM look forward to see you all again next year.
Had a great time talking with everyone and with the vendors. A big thanks to everyone who organized and fed us. The food and events were fantastic as usual.
A special thanks to Papa & Mama Smurf for taking so much time helping me pick out a hammock. Looking forward to finalizing everything and getting it made. And thanks to Hammock Gear for the quilt bag and the gift card towards a new cuben tarp.

Although I always up there for only one day, I had a fun time. Thank you to the organizers and the volunteers for putting this event together. Thank you to the vendors for their contributions and showing us their gear. Thank you to the instructors for an informative class.
We were lucky to have the storm miss the campground, but there were plenty of storms driving up north. I had to turn on my wipers to their fastest speed, slow down to 30 ish miles, and drive over a slightly flooded freeway. Still, I made it home safe. See you guys around next year.
Just got back this afternoon. Had a great time, and want to thank the organizers and all of the amazing vendors that participated. I got a chance to chat with quite a few of them, awesome people. I will be posting my video on Tuesday, I'll share the link on here.
Another successful Hangcon. Thanks to Timberr, Gumbo, littleRicky, FloridaHanger and all the organizers. Everything from the facilities, the food, the raffle and all activities were superb. It was nice to see old familiar faces and to meet new people.

Looks like quite the crowd. Thanks for sharing it with those of us who couldn't make it.
HangCon was great. This trip has been on my list for a long time. Thanks to Uncle Sam, we have never been close enough. This year we are in Savannah so it worked out perfectly.
More than anything, I'm thankful for the volunteers and vendors that made this happen. I pulled some Dish Duty and had my kiddos clean tables and sweep floors, but that was nothing compared to the work of the cooks and organizers.
With both parents working full time and so many distractions in our modern life, it can be difficult to get the kids hooked on the outdoors. Events like HangCon help pave the way.
So to all those that volunteered time and money, I mean this so sincerely - THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Also, the raffle was INSANE!
Chameleons, and Cuben, and Quilts, oh my!
HangCon is worth the trip just for the raffle from Hammock Gear, Dutchware, Dream Hammock, Loco Libre Gear, UGQ, Sierra Madre Research, Batchstovez, and all the other great vendors that made it happen. (if I missed you, I'm sorry)
