Since my little incident with the falling post that left me stranded on the ground in the middle of the night Friday , I was thinking of changing my trail name to "Snap". That works on so many levels, and it is easier to say than "Ranger Dude".

    Thoughts?

I like it. If you send a PM to the mods they can change your forum name if the name you want is available. That's how GUMBO was born.

Just got home this morning and still can't believe it's over! This was my wife's first hang (and first time hanging), and she's already talking about next year. That speaks volumes to the community that comes together at Hangcon. It was great to see old friends and make new ones. Thanks to Timber and Gumbo for all the work you do putting this together. Floridahanger, you rock! I truly appreciate how much you went out of your way for us. Lilricky and Richtofla, it was good seeing both of you again. Thanks for all that you do.

I decided to relax on Saturday and not do the vendor thing, and instead answer questions for anyone who happened to wander by and stumble upon us. It was great to meet some of the folks who have our gear, and just shoot the breeze. I even found a few minutes to talk backpkrmn's ear off. Sam, sorry man, time gets away and I missed out on that fireside chat. We will get together, hopefully sooner than later.

As a yankee I'm not used to the changeability of Florida weather, and tornado warnings scared us out Saturday night. Next time we'll just hunker down, but since it was my wife's first hang I wanted to exit on a high note while she still wanted to come back. All in all a great time. Man I can't wait until next year.

Thanks, George. I hope your wife will make the trip again next year. We are one big family.

Where are all the pictures? Thanks, sunsetkayaker for your contribution. I like seeing all the river pics since I seem to never be able to go.

Give me some more pics, folks. I need a HangCon 2017 fix.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

We had a great time and say a big thanks to everyone who came and worked so hard to make this a success. It seems to get better every year. The vendors are amazing and so generous. I won a buff from batch stovez and a hammock gear quilt bag.

Timberrr and Gumbo are simply the best! We can't thank you enough for all you do. What a gift to this community you two are!

Already looking forward to next year.
    Blessings to everyone.
