Have you tried laying at more of an angle?
How are your ends gathered? Just Jeff (remember him?) has a page that covers whipping the ends of a DIY hammock. http://www.tothewoods.net/HomemadeHammock2.html
Experimenting with changing the gathered ends is worth a try.
Good Luck

If I elevate my foot end significantly higher than my head end calf ridge is not an issue for me. Im usually in a Dream Hammock 1.6 hyper D. I think fabric choice can cause calf ridge as well if its too stiff or thick. JMHO

Hash browns and bacon strips , I like the way you lick your lips
So I flipped the hammock and readjusted the bunching at CL. Big improvement in ridge reduction and now appears to be as comfortable as others. Who would have thunk?
Fyi OCdave...it is a sewn end not gathered (Dutch netless).
