Dream Hammock Sparrow vs Dutchware Chameleon

They seem pretty similar to one another. Any preference? I know the Chameleon isn't officially out but curious on people's thoughts.

Unlike the ThunderBird, the Sparrow has no dedicated head or foot end so you can lay with your head on either end.

I think I remember in the sparrow video Randy said that you can use or not use the tieouts as well. I'll research it to confirm. They seem very very similar to one another in my book.

I have a sparrow. It doesn't have a dedicated foot or head end. The cut of it does mandate head left or right though as it is an asymetrical cut. However, I've laid in mine both ways and was equally comfortable. (I naturally go head left though.) It also has zippers that meet in the middle making it very easy to get into or out of on either side. The sparrow can be made in wider fabrics as well. Mine is 66" using hex 70 outer and hyper d xl inner. It's amazingly comfortable and versatile. The net doesn't need to be reversed, but the over cover can be reversed so the vent is on either end. The styles are very similar, but Dutch's hammock has more tie outs/hooks and allows for both head left or head right. Dutch doesn't yet have a wide version available, but I'm certain he will. I was considering the Chameleon but it's so similar to my sparrow I'm holding out until I see one in person and lay in it as it's narrower than mine and I'd like to see a wide version. I do like the easy on/off d ring style attachment points for pouches and such though. It's a great design. But for now, my sparrow does everything I need it to do very comfortably.

I was needing to upgrade a couple of hammocks around here, so I'm getting one of each. Early Bird complete Chameleon, and DH Sparrow #4812! It will sure feel like Christmas again in the coming weeks!

I thought that the equivalent was the Raven which is symmetrical. Not exactly the same thing, but very tempting at $115.

I've seen a couple of the Ravens out in the wild now and they are awesome hammocks. That'll likely be my next hammock.

nah you got it right. the sparrow and chameleon are very similar with the exception being the chameleon is a symmetrical cut allowing you to lay either head left or right. the only similarity to the raven is the cut being symmetrical. the raven has a very unique system for deploying the net and cover. so far, i haven't seen another hammock like the raven.
