That's awesome!
Now when all my friends/family say I'm nuts for hammock camping year round... especially when it's -20F+, I can show them this guy.
He's got to be on this forum... right?
Just saw that on the news tonight. Wow that takes a bit of dedication to do.
Go Henry!!! Woohooo
I can say sleeping outside in -20f is really easy peasy with 0* and 20* quilts stacked (racked up several nights so far in the 0 to lowest of -20f so far)
Plus since I have gone outside pretty much full time in the last 2 yrs I have been much healthier...well all that fresh air has to account for something. Or it just might be because of the better sleep one gets every night...
For the folks that have considered it and you have the quilts.....just do it, live it.

Notice he doesn't have a fancy hammock (looked like an ENO or similar, definitely not a Chameleon!) fancy suspension, fancy quilt-set, merino wool long johns, none of the things we on this forum lust after, but he's making it work for him in true HYOH fashion.
I would be interested in knowing what he's using underneath.
It's a nice story, thanks for sharing JeremyL!
That's awesome! Seems like a cool kid.

That's fantastic. I can't imagine stripping down to my skivvies below freezing, much less below 0F.

Very cool! Does he use a ladder to get into that hammock? Hanging high and tight!
I love this.

I sew things on youtube.
I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.
