TO EACH THEIR OWN....
I've made hammocks from Hexon W 1.6 and HyperD XL 1.6, and Robic XL 1.0.
I agree Hexon has a soft feel that's more cottony than HyperD/Robic, HyperD has a silky/stain feel, and Robic is between but much close to HyperD.
I'll disagree with kitsapcowboy on one point - in my experience sleeping in both (side/fig 4) Hexon 1.6 definitely feels firmer than HyperD 1.6. Less give against my knee in these positions.
Robic 1.0 obviously stretches more than either of the 1.6's, it's a great choice for DL hammocks.
Because I'm primarily a side/fig 4 sleeper and I like minimal fabric pressure against my legs, HyperD XL is my (current) fabric of choice. If I was a back sleeper, I'd probably go w/ Hexon.
I love my hexon wide. I like the durability of the robic but it's not available up to 70+ wide. The stretch to me seems about the same.
The hexon feels way better then the robic.
Unfortunately Dutch no longer has the hexon wide in an earthy tone.
Never made a HyperD hammock so can't comment on that.
All mine are whipped 11.5 footers with KMs. I'm little over 6' and 195 lbs.

If I weighed under 175lbs or so... I'd probably use HyperD 1.6 XL. (or his Dutchness's Hexon if you prefer as some do).
If I weighed more than 175lbs... I'd use Robic Hybrid 1.7 XL.
I don't like Robic 1.0 very much in a single layer- so for those who tried that and don't want to try the hybrid... it's a different fabric.
I do like HyperD 1.0 very much- but doesn't come in wide and I've gained some weight.
In the XL fabrics- I like a 10'6" sewn channel GE best with a bit more sag than others tend to use and a bit more extreme angle at 5'10" and 225lbs or so.
Thanks everyone for the input, going ahead with the 1.7 Robic.
