A couple of us are going to check out Browning Hollow before the Hoosier Hang this year. Anyone interested in going it's this Wednesday, returning Thursday.

Predictions are risky, especially when it comes to the future.
I'll be down that way Wed-Fri. I was thinking Browning hill and the Henge, from the south Nebo trail head, but I might make my way down to Story instead. Have a good trip!

Flood warnings for Jackson county until 7p Wed night. No real rain on tap for the next 48hrs, so that probably means the reservoir is full.
The road will be fine to the north Nebo trail head. It goes under pretty quick on the other side of Elkinsville though, and I'm thinking the Hollow might be a little too low for me.
That means I'm back to the south spur, the Hill, the Henge, and higher ground.

We should be at the trailhead by 1 or a little later. What car will you be in. Do you have my phone number. ?

Red Honda. No phone on this trip, but I'll PM you my # and you can use it if something comes up. I'm closer and would be leaving half an hour or so after you would've hit the road. Drive safe!
I'll post here before leaving. You might do the same. I can lollygag around the TH for a while without much harm

Hope you guys enjoyed the trip. I'm heading down to the area tomorrow. 55-62° for highs, 50° lows. Crazy!!
Have a great time.

mark6 have a great time. hiked nebo from road to road (the reroute musta got to me) it was like hiking a different trail, which isn't exactly a bad thing. I really shouldn't wait 20 years before revisiting an "old friend". Never did run across Mule and company, but then I managed to hike past the highest point in the HNF twice without ever noticing. The old trail went right over the top, and was kind of hard to miss.
Middle of the week still a great time to be out there. Didn't see a single vehicle at Any of the TH's along Tower Ridge Road. Going in or out. The Fire Tower was even a ghost town. Looking forward to the Spring Hang!
