    Dual split rings on tarp?

Just received my new Winter Dream tarp in the .93 15d fabric and let me tell you it's Awesome!!! Quality and craftsmanship is outstanding as is every cottage vendor I have used from this community. My question is about the hardware that came on it, and I did research this question and read another thread on the subject but was still unclear. It uses two split rings at every guy out point and on the ridge line. Are you supposed to tie into both the rings on the ridge? The rings on the Ridgeline are pretty stout and don't know why you would need both of them but I'm sure they are doubled up for a reason. Can anyone tell me if I can just use one at each point on the ridgeline and use my Line Loc 3's with webbing directly to the guy out webbing on tarp instead of the rings to simplify and maybe save some weight?

Yes, you want to tie to both of them. I missed one and broke the single ring. I have replaced it with a titanium ring, because more titanium is more better 😂

Neither did I, until I was searching for small split rings on Amazon!

Anyone who replicates my foolishness wants the 12mm size.

Just be aware the titanium split rings may need to be doubled up as well. I was considering using them but had one fail on my tarp on its first test. Mind you the wind was fairly decent.

Thanks for the warning. Right now, it is paired with the remaining ring.

Hopefully the milligram shavers will see this, too.

I had origanally thought that on the ridgline one ring was for the line going tree to tree and the other was the centering ring going from tarp to prussick but now that i have read that someones have failed doing it that way i have re-rigged mine to use both rings.
The titamium rings are not any stronger in my opinion and the rings that come with the Winter Dream don't really wieght anything at all.
Also as posted in the origanal post the craftsmanship and quality of the UGQ Winter Dream is OUTSTANDING and in my personal opinion it is the number 1 at the top of the list for highest quality and design in tarps!
    LOVE my Winter Dream !!!.

My question is answered about the ridge line rings but what about the guy out points. There should be no reason I cant take both rings off the guy out points and put my Line Loc 3's with webbing larks headed directly unto their webbing points correct?

We recently switched the ridge rings to a much more robust split ring. Easy way to tell is if they are the same size as the guy out rings they are old style, if they are larger they are new style. Double rings allow you to use them as cinch buckle style adjuster using split RL as well as cinch buckle style at guy outs with certain (small diameter) guy line. We do recommend using both rings at all time to prevent the ring from deforming and ultimately failing. We'll be reviewing all of these features in an upcoming video.

See no reason this would cause any issues.
