Fold and stuff tarp, or bunch it up and shove it in stuff sack?

Do you bunch up and shove your silnyloin tarp nto a stuff sack, or fold it close to the size of the sack and then stuff it in? I would think that bunching and stuffing would cause tons of wrinkles that would make it hard to get the tarp taught, although I've seen some being bunched and stiffed.

I was taught years ago to stuff all my gear to avoid unnecessary stretching of material and to avoid the wear that may result from a fabric folded over and over the same spot. Don't know if there is any hard data to back it up but I always thought it was reasonable. I've never had any problems stuffing everything over the years. Wrinkles go away pretty quickly.

Another option- snake skins. After skinning my tarp, I roll it and then into the stuff sack- wrinkles are just a part of life. enjoy

    Go stuff it;<)
By all means, let's argue about whether or not a hammock will hurt a tree. All the while ignoring the fact that there is an island of garbage the size of Texas floating in the Pacific ocean. Or how about the fact that over 75% of the world's nuclear reactors are leaking...
