    Winter Hanging In Yosemite

This is my first time posting a trip report so it's not going to be good. I'd be happy to add any information that people would find interesting.
Yosemite is packed in the summer and full of redtapes, but offers solitude and headache-free paperwork in the winter. Just show up at Badger Ski pass and ask for an overnight permit, free of charge of course, and you're free to explore for as many nights as you want.
I spent two nights there in ideal conditions; sunny during the day and clear skies at night. It did dip into the single digits but not too bad. I brought a tarp but did not deploy it so I can stare at the stars at night.

Wow! Beautiful area. I do have several questions.
How high up were you? How far did you hike? Was that a person out on the point? Thanks for sharing.

I was from 6,800ft to 7,800ft. I hiked about 17 miles in three days (really 1 full day and two half days), 6 of that was breaking snow and it took most of the full day. The person was me, I am holding an umbrella too .

Looks like a great time and I believe it would be amazing to look up and see endless stars.

Oh wow. How did you accomplish that picture? That was such a beautiful scene with the hammock above the clouds. Thanks again for sharing.

    Winter Hanging In Yosemite

Pretty impressive, Yosemite is a magical place. I envy your ambition to Hike there in that weather. Well done and thanks for bringing us along.

I went snow camping there many years ago. It was beautiful and cold then, too. I was on the ground, and look forward to driving out there again some winter.

    Thank you for reminding me.
