Thanks. I used a soldering iron to melt a hole big enough for the grommet in the grosgrain... put the grommet in, then sewed it onto the channel.

That's clever! It gives a fray less edge as well which is preferable to using my grommet cutting punches and a lighter after. The lighter can elongate the holes a bit more which reduces the snug fit.

Figured out my antique sewing machine still works. Think this might be a good first diy project? My incubator 20 should be here this coming weekend!
Btw, what size needle/thread? Oops, you had the thread listed...and the needle, too. Lol

Okay, the bug bit me hard! I did my first netless hammock last night, did a test hang in the wind with a new incubator20 and the cold wind/sleet was getting past my I'll-staked tarp. Just ordered up the membrane and components based on your list and will be trying my 1st knotty mod! If I figure it out well I may try to retrofit it to my hammock as well. 1.6 HyperD and the membrane ought to make a sweet setup!

    Thanks for the inspiration!

And Kistap? I nearly went for your tiger print but it was out of my budget at the moment. I wonder if it can be had in white with the black/grey stripes? Or a good snow leopard print?

Hey there. Kyle at Ripstop by the Roll already has the full-yard graphics for the color variant White Tiger in the "Tiger Stripes" pattern for OutdoorINK, which is already a selection you can order as webbing on the OI 1" poly webbing page. I was really pleased with the way that version of the pattern turned out, with lots of subtlety and variation in the hues. I hope you like it. If you get a chance, shoot Kyle at Ripstop by the Roll an e-mail or private message to request the White Tiger in his next site update, so the pattern will be there for you when you're ready to order it. You'll also be pleased to know that a family of "Leopard" patterns, including Snow Leopard, is currently in the works, as well as Ocelot! I'll post an update in the RBTR forum as soon as they are ready to go to print. Thanks very much for your interest!

Got the material in to make the protector using Winnie's plans (just black this time). Torn between building it or going camping tonight! 3rd world problems of the worst kind! Lol

Dumb question time: how do you see the shock cord to the gross grain for the knotty mods? Make a loop or knot or something?
