    SLD Winter Haven Pictures

So I am getting ready to purchase either the SLD Winter Haven or the Warbonnet Superfly but I can't decide which one. Does anyone have pictures of a winter haven with hammock and gear inside? I would love to see the same with the superfly as well.

I own a lot of Warbonnet gear but I went with the Winter Haven from Jared as I had the choice of choosing SilPoly as SilNylon tends t hold water and stretches when wet which are two things I didn't want to deal with. Here's my Winter Haven from my last hang with my Warbonnet Ridgerunner in it. With a gathered end hammock you would have even more room.

Stuff I'll Say About My SLD Tarps

    1) I have an 11' x 10' SLD Trail Haven (Multicam Intruder 1.0 oz sil-nylon) with a single internal pole mod, which is pretty much exactly the Winter Haven without the doors, and it is without a doubt my favorite tarp of all that I have purchased or made -- including the HG Cuben Fiber hex I just bought.

    2) I have set up the Trail Haven with matching tarp beaks on each end to recreate the Winter Haven's exact dimensions and coverage, and it is amazingly functional in terms of wind and weather protection.

    3) I really, really want an SLD Winter Haven with a double internal pole mod for my bridge hammocks. (The $ I spent on the HG CF should have gone toward the SLD, but I was weak... )

    4) Everything Jared at SLD makes is dripping with craftsmanship and thoughtful design; if you buy a Winter Haven, I am confident you will be as pleased as I am with everything I've bought from SLD.

Sorry no photos yet. My custom Winter Haven is 12x14. Yesterday I received the parts to make 3 internal poles. Hopefully I'll get the chance to complete over the weekend (if not working). I'll take some photos with double hung GE's and then a WBRR. This tarp is for car camping only.

Wow thanks all. Keep them comping. I am looking at this tarp as my all around backpacking tarp. Just getting an idea of what to get and except. I tend to have a lot of stuff when backpacking due to being out for 3 to 5 days and hunting/fishing equipment. I like the idea of putting it all under the tarp and have it protected. How much does one of these bad boys weigh?

Also, I am looking at getting the Xenon fabric. Thoughts?

I made an 11' x 12' widebody Xenon winter tarp with doors; all told, it weighs 25 ounces. The fabric is excellent, easy to sew and great out in the field in terms of performance. Mine pales in comparison to whatever tarp Jared could make you out of XW.

Here is my winter haven with inside pole mods and the doors are tied back it is a 12' ridgeline. This was a car camping trip so there is no gear underneath. The hammock is a 11' netless dutchware hammock.

Here it is in porch mod with my 11' dream hammock on my backpacking trip in December

Mine is a 12' ridgeline and the tarp with all the hardware, snake skins and stuff sack weighs 1.44lbs without the poles for the pole mod and 2.13lbs with the poles. I also have straight edges at the bottom or the tarp instead of the cat cut
