Similar experience here. The CDTs are nothing remarkable by themselves, but layered together they perform better than expected. It's like 1 + 1 = 3.

    More updates:

Got one side baffle with channel and linelocs attached to the middle of the quilt and mocked it up. Second one I got of me laying in it....seems like it's going to be a nice snug fit especially on the food end. Gotta love that blackbird footbox.

Now all that's left to do is the other side and the end cinch channels. I'm taking pictures of about every step too and I'll organize them all and post them when I'm finished.

Also I figured out a way to get the side baffles double stuffed and in one tube instead of split into two while still being able to do my footboxes for the TQs and draft tubes for the ends of the UQ. Wish I could find someplace local that had some DWR fabric, I really want to add a UQP to this project.

Got the other side on the quilt and got to the very end of one of the end channels when my needles broke. Ended up finding out anyway that bias tape SUCKS for end channels anyway so I'll have to find something to replace that with. I guess I need to use some kind of satin ribbon or whatnot.

UQ is done (unless I decide to add on the draft baffles).

Came out pretty good! Hope to hear how it works in the field soon.

My single layer CDT is not very effective in the cold, but works well when stacked with other quilts or even another CDT.

It looks good from a distance lol. My seams were not the best on this but everything is at least functional lol. Now I just need to get a friend to help me get all the adjustments right while the hammock is weighted to see if I need those draft tubes or not.

I'll be able to test it this coming week during my 5 day climbing trip up in Arkansas. If I can get Friday off I'll have 4 nights of camping probably in the 50s there. Better than nothing I guess for a test lol.

Edit: I take that back it looks like the forecast got a fair bit colder than last time I looked. 30s and 40s so far, coldest night forecasted right at freezing. Looks like I will have an excellent test of the limits of single the single quilt and should still be plenty comfy with the doubled up quilts. Just need to get those TQs done this week. They should be a good bit easier than the UQ though.

How did it end up going for you with this quilt?
