Sayoung , I'm 70 and checking in from Austin. I've an ENO Doublenest Deluxe , a rain fly and a very old spreader bar netting hammock. I planted a 4X6 post near our patio shade tree (Oak) with lots of good filtered shade for serious napping. Next is putting together some type of sleep system. Hammocks are suspended ( one at a time ) by long ( 12') straps and steel rings ( AKA 2 ring buckle ) all secured with knots.

Welcome sayound to Hammock Forums and let us know if you have any questions. It's great to see other "mature" members around here. This isn't just a young mans game.

Glad to have you aboard. I've got a daughter in Texas, over near Canton.
    Cheers.

A big hearty welcome from a fellow Austinite. I wonder how many of us there are on here. Perhaps we should look at organizing a local hang at some point.

Howdy from Lubbock! I second the notion of a local hang sometime, I'm willing to drive a bit to learn a lot!

I've been to Lubbock, one has to drive a bit just to find a pair of trees. Seriously though there are a number of hangers out your way too.

Scroll through the trip planning forum and you'll see there's a few hangs around the Austin area as well as around the state.
